• Az angol nyelv csapdája. Ha az internetfelhasználók számát durván 2 milliárd emberre becsüljük, akkor ennek közel 25%-a angolul beszélő személy. Ha azonban a világháló folytatja gyors expanzív növekedését, akkor már arra is figyelemmel kell lennünk, hogy a világon élő közel 7 milliárd embernek csupán egy töredéke, kevesebb mint 10% angol anyanyelvű – s ez kihatással lesz az interneten használt nyelvi összetételre is.

A kommunikáció nyelvének megválasztásánál abból a feltételezésből indulunk ki, hogy mindenki a saját nyelvén használja szívesebben az interneten. A jó weboldalt úgy kell megtervezni, hogy magához vonzza a látogatókat, a tervezett üzenetünket így lehet eljuttatni a megcélzott fogyasztóhoz Napjainkban az emberek széles köre számára vált természetessé az internetezés, ők már nem feltétlenül műszakiak, s az angol nyelvtudás sem magától értetődő.
